The original snake bracelet dates back to the Ptolemaic era between 300 and 250 BC and is crafted with remarkable detail, especially in the naturalistic depiction of the snake’s head. This high-quality replica is made of cast bronze. The bracelet, designed as an upper arm ring, is flexible making it easily adjustable to fit comfortably.
In ancient Greek and Roman cultures, the snake held complex symbolic meanings. Its regular shedding of skin represented youth, renewal, and rebirth, while it also served as a symbol of healing and protection. The snake is connected to mythological figures such as the Greek goddess Hera and Asclepius, the god of healing, for whom it was a constant companion. Additionally, it appears in myths of Medusa and the Hydra, the serpent-like adversary defeated by Heracles.
