Product description

The design for this special torque is inspired by the famous dragon head of the Viking burial ship found in Oseberg. The dragon head is made of wood and adorned the Oseberg ship's prow (around 800 AD). The prow is still exhibited in the beautiful Viking Ship Museum in Oslo, where the original ships can also be seen. These are the best preserved Viking ships in the world and they even have ornamental engravings in the Oseberg animal style. The dragon head was a prow, but it is assumable that people adorned several objects with such dragon figures.

This torque has a beautifully twisted design and the ends figure two dragon heads. The torque is light in weight (approx. 100 grams) and easy to wear, it does not press on the neck. It is suitable for both men and women with a neck circumference of up to 55 cm. To wear the torque, you can pull the two ends away from each other and thus hang the torc around your neck. When the torc is hanging, you can bend the ends back again.

This is a beautiful piece of jewelry for re-enactors, but also a great way to take a modern outfit to a higher level. It is made of high quality bronze and shines in the light. The silver-plated version has a layer of silver over the bronze, so that the torque looks like solid silver.
