Fibulae like this have been excavated all over Northern Europe. This fibula is a replica of a 10th century original excavated near Dublin in Ireland. Thistle fibulae were worn by the Vikings in both the Baltic and the North Sea regions, by the Gaelic people of Scotland and Ireland and by the Anglo-Saxon people of England.
