Product description

This sword is a combination of several 9th century Viking swords that are found in the region around Trondheim in Norway. The grip is made after a frequently occurring type and the wide blade is typical for the Viking sword. The sword is delivered including a simple scabbard which is strengthened with steel strips. The sword has a full tang and a riveted pommel.

Although this sword is especially designed for 9th century re-enactment it is also an acquisition for every sword collector. It is available blunt (battle-ready) or sharp. The sword has a length of 95 cm, a blade of 77 cm and a grip of 18 cm. Its point of balance is situated approx. 10 cm from the cross-guard. The sword weighs approx. 1 kg.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.
