Product description
This statue is a handmade wood carving of the Viking god Thor. It is inspired by the Icelandic statue of Thor from around the year 1000, found on the Eyarland farm near Akureyri. The original can be seen in the National Museum in Iceland. The statue probably shows Thor holding his Mjolnir. In Icelandic tradition, the Mjolnir is often shown in the shape of a cross. The statue may be based on a scene from the Edda, where Thor is sitting and grasps his Hammer with both hands during a wedding ceremony. This wood carving is a work of art that is perfect as home decoration, for your home altar or to give as a gift. You can optionally paint it a different color, or you can stain it if you want to place it outside.
