This replica sword is based on the sword of Henry V of England. Henry was one of the most powerful kings of England and is especially known for his involvement in the 100 Years War with France and his war against the Welsh leader Owain Glyndwr. The sword had disappeared for years until it was found in the tomb in Westminster Abbey. It has simple but elegant decorations, so this sword was meant for real battle and not for ceremonial purposes. Nowadays the sword is part of the collection of Westminster Abbey in the City of Westminster.
The blade shows the changing function of the sword from that period - from slashing to stabbing. The cross-guard is slightly bent to block the sword of the enemy and throw it to the ground. The grip is made of wood covered with black leather. The sword has a length of 87,5 cm with a blade of 70 cm and a thickness of 0,5 cm. It weighs 2,25 kg.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.
