Product description
A Scottish shield by Windlass Steelcrafts with a Celtic cross, for Scottish reenactment and lovers of Scottish history. Until the Battle of Culloden, Scottish targes were the primary object with which Jacobites protected themselves in battle. After the defeat of the Jacobites, the Scots prohibited the use of the targe. The targe of wealthier Scottishmen was richly decorated. For example, Charles Edward Stuart's targe featured a medusa head and military trophies. This Windlass Steelcrafts replica targe is also nicely decorated with a Celtic cross, circles and other geometric motifs reminiscent of the Pictish art. The shield is covered with leather and the back has leather straps so you can hold it tightly. The shield is perfect for Scottish reenactment, Jacobite reenactment and Scottish battles like Culloden. Also beautiful for Cosplay or a Scottish costume. Additionally, it is a beautiful decoration piece for your home.

Maintenance & care
