Product description

Just one praying mantis survives the nest. This mantis is the best and has overcome all others. The praying mantis symbolizes slyness and power in the Japanese culture. The praying mantis also plays an essential role in Japanese mythology and for making katanas.

This katana is made by CAS Hanwei and has a L6/Bainite blade made in the Shobu Zukuri with Bo-Hi. The Praying Mentis katana is a unique and completely functional handmade katana. In the grip the green silk ito together with the brown saya create a beautiful contrast with the gold-copper fuchi, tsuba and kashira.

The handmade carbon steel blade combines power and flexibility. It is known for the excellent blade that can just be made by some master smiths. When making the grip an exact heating is essential for dividing the blade into a Bainite blade (and back) with a very hardened Martensite Yakiba (cutting edge).

This katana is 104 cm long with a 74 cm blade and a 28 cm grip. It weighs 1134 grams.

The very rare katana can not be returned after purchase.
