Product description
This chestplate is based on fifteenth-century historical originals on paintings and murals by Italian masters, such as Piero della Francesca, for example, who depicted a high quantity of similar armor pieces. Chest plates like this were worn by the infantrymen from the second half of the fifteenth century until the sixteenth century. This type of armor was made in Italy and was also sold to other European countries. Typical of the Milanese style is the overlapping and beveled plate over the chest that is meant to deflect attacks. This cuirass protects the chest and abdomen and the backplate protects the back. It has leather straps to adjust it to size and different suspensions for other armor pieces. It is delivered including a matching backplate.
