Product description
Bucklers like these were used throughout 15th century Europe. They are depicted in fighting books such as those by Hans Talhoffer. Bucklers were ideal for hand-to-hand combat and were often used by armored knights and archers. This buckler is blackened. This protects it against rust and weathering. This method was also regularly applied to armor parts in the 15th century.
