Product description
This hood is based on originals from the late Middle Ages, as depicted in various illuminated manuscripts. It ends in a long tail, also known as a liripipe. The hood was mainly worn by the lower classes of society and was a practical head covering that protected against the cold and other weather conditions while working in the fields and similar activities. However, wealthy people also wore hoods, which were more richly decorated and made in colors such as blue and red. The bottom of the hood is decorated with late medieval motifs that can also be seen in architectural ornaments. Perfect for late medieval reenactment and historical clothing.
