Product description
This historical headscarf is based on depictions of originals in medieval illuminated manuscripts and on stained-glass windows. This headpiece serves as a base for wearing under a larger headscarf. With this base, a woman would keep her hair in place, while the larger headscarf covered the rest. Headscarves were worn throughout history by married women, as it was a status symbol. It is only in modern times that wearing headscarves by women in the West has fallen out of use. A perfect accessory for historical reenactment of various periods.
