Product description
This spear butt cap is based on originals used between the 1st century BC and the 13th century. Butt caps protected the back of the spear shaft from wear. On their own, these points were also powerful weapons! This allowed the warrior to use the back of the spear as a weapon as well. They were used for throwing spears, such as the Roman pilum, as well as cavalry lances and Germanic and Viking spears. This butt cap features a hand-forged finish and a blunt tip, making it ideal for reenactment battles.
