This beautiful Viking sword is a replica of a find from the period between 950 and 1050, classified as Type X according to the Petersen typology for Viking swords. A striking feature of the original sword, which is now in the collection of the Musée de l'Armée in Paris, France, are the engraved inscriptions on the blade. One side shows the famous inscription of the manufacturer ULFBERHT, a probably Rhenish blacksmith who is considered one of the first brands for swords (across Europe - up to Western Russia - there are now about 170 swords from the 9th to 11th centuries found with the characteristic +VLFBERHT+ or +VLFBERH+T inscription). On the other side is the inscription DUNA + DUNA XX, a possible abbreviation whose exact meaning is unknown to this day. This replica of the Viking sword has a straight, double-edged blade with a semi-sharp edge. As with the original find, the inscription VLFBERH+T is engraved on one side of the wide fuller and on the other side DUNA + DUNA XX. The hilt consists of a short, rounded steel crossguard and a wooden grip wrapped in brown leather, ending in a semi-circular steel pommel. The sword comes with a brown wooden/leather scabbard with steel scabbard decoration and a wooden belt loop (for up to 5 cm wide belts).

Prevent rust and corrosion by oiling your weapons regularly. Remove rust easily with black sandpaper. Remove burrs with a whetstone. Make sure you have removed all burrs before using a battle-ready weapon, as they can cause wounds.
When packaging this item, we exclusively use 100% recycled plastic and recycled paper/cardboard from FSC certified forests. We reuse a large part of the material directly without the intervention of a recycling process.
Recycle the material by separating your waste:
1. Cardboard: separate or reuse your paper.
2. Plastic cushions, clothing bags and plastic tape: separate or reuse your plastic. If possible, pierce the cushions with a volume reduction needle.
3. Paper packaging for jewelry and small items: these have a plastic inner layer. Remove these, then separate your paper and plastic.
