Product description

This sword is made after a Milanese original from 1432. Nowadays it is part of the Royal Armouries of Leeds. In 1414 the kingdom of Cyprus signed a peace treaty with the Egyptian Mamluks. In honor of this treaty the king of Cyprus sent many gifts to the sultan of the Mamluks, this sword was one of the gifts.

The sword is a Milanese design and was found in the weapon arsenal of Alexandria. It is an Oakeshott type XIX and is provided with a finger ring and a short ricasso.

The sword has a length of 105 cm with a blade of 87 cm. It weighs approx. 900 g just like the original.

Deepeeka made name with their beautiful classical helmets and equipment. Besides, this Indian factory produces (early)medieval semi-sharp and battle-ready swords. With their blades of 48 to 50 HRC, these models are well suited for re-enactment. The flexibility and balance enable them to be used intensively. The swords are a mix of historical accuracy and user friendliness and are definitely worth the price. The swords are delivered with luxury scabbard.

This sword is an Oakeshott type XIX.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.

Please note. After finishing the product yourself, the warranty and return right expire. Celtic WebMerchant is not responsible for the obtained result.
