Eustace fitz John was a mighty Norman magnate from the north of Anglo-Norman England. He served under the English kings Henry I, Stephan and Henry II. In 1135 he was closely involved with the war against the Scottish king David I. This coin depicts Eustace with his full armor. He wears a nasal helmet, hauberk and a sword (presumably Oakeshott type XI). The back of the coin has a cross and a quatrefoil. This coin is made of leadless pewter.
