Our Viking buckles are based on original buckles from the Viking era that were found in, for example, Birka, Haithabu, Gotland and Gokstad. Every Viking buckle has been extensively researched with museum visits and archaeological advice. These beautiful buckles are hand cast in Germany from bronze, pewter and zamac. Most buckles have pins on the back. Prick holes in the leather with a leather prong, put the pins through the leather and fasten the buckle with the caps. There are also very small size buckles. With these buckles you can put the leather through and sew the two pieces of leather together. When choosing a Viking buckle, take the width of the leather into account. Then you know for sure whether it fits.
Our Viking belt fittings are also based on historical originals. The belt fitting is available in several sizes. Make sure that the belt fitting is not too wide for the leather you have selected. At the back of the belt fitting are pins with caps. Prick holes in the leather where you want to place the belt fittings. Put the pins through and close them with the caps. Your belt is ready! There is also belt fittings without caps. These pins are a bit thinner, you can bend them or hit them with a rubber hammer so that they are fixed to the leather. You can also use the belt fitting to decorate hats, clothing, bags and scabbards.
