We have the largest collection of medieval buckles in Europe! Our buckles are based on historical originals and have been developed after extensive museum and archaeological research. We have replica buckles from the Gothic period and the late Middle Ages. We also have belt fittings for decorating your belt. Of course you can also use these buckles and belt fittings for clothing, corsets, bags, saddles, sword scabbards and other leather work.
Discover our Renaissance and pirate buckles, based on original finds. Many of these buckles are also based on paintings. For example, we have a buckle and belt fitting from a painting by the famous Rogier van der Weyden. With our buckles you can make your own Renaissance or pirate belt for your costume. You can also use them as decoration for other leatherwork such as saddles, bags or corsets.
Make sure that the buckle or belt fitting is not too wide for the leather you have selected. At the back of the belt fitting are pins with caps. Prick holes in the leather where you want to fasten the belt fitting. Put the pins through and close them with the caps. Your belt is ready! There is also belt fitting without caps. These pins are a bit thinner, you can bend them or hit them with a rubber hammer so that they are fixed to the leather. There are also narrow buckles without pins. With these buckles you put the leather through, and sew the pieces of leather together.
