Product description

This buckler is classified as a Type IB according to Herbert Schmidt. It has a round shape with sloping edges. The first depictions of this type of buckler appear in the early 14th-century Tower manuscript, but these weapons were likely already in use during the 13th century. Bucklers like this remained in use until the 16th century. They are frequently depicted in Fechtbücher, such as those by Hans Talhoffer and Johannes Liechtenauer.

This battle-ready buckler is made of 2 mm thick steel and features a wooden grip.
