This is the Celtic WebMerchant tagline. But what exactly are History Rebels?
We see History Rebels as cross thinkers, out of the box thinkers. People who want to be as they are, not conditioned by the dogmas of modern society. People who value their heritage, nature and the way their ancestors lived. On the one hand, as a History Rebel you enjoy the good things modern society has to offer, but at the same time you long for a slower way of life. You want to bridge the gap between past and present.
If you Google History Rebels you will find rebels from the past. Names such as Sir William Wallace, Joan D'arc, Robin Hood, Willem Tijl, Galileo Galilei, Erik de Rode. What do these heroes have in common with modern History Rebels? They fought against the current in the era in which they lived. But these kinds of rebels also live today. Perhaps there are more rebels today than in all other centuries put together. Why?
Knowledge is no longer a means of power for the bourgeoisie. Due to the arrival of the internet and the development of the smartphone, knowledge is not only available to everyone, you can also access it directly. This means that you no longer have to believe everything others tell you, but can do your own research. History Rebels stands for free thinking based on our own research. This is of course easier in a society where knowledge is freely accessible. As a History Rebel you organize your life the way you want with knowledge of the present, the past and your own role in it.
How do you apply this in practice in your own life?
For example, try not to get carried away by the high pressure and the 'have to do everything'. There's no harm in taking a step back from society's expectations in your spare time and enjoying the little things that make life special. Take a walk in nature, visit events and parties , read a nice book about history or another subject with which you can develop yourself. Make 1 on 1 time with good friends. Write a (fantasy) story, or build a whole world. Rediscover the history of life in Scandinavia and Scotland. Work out a design that you have had in mind for a long time. And above all, dare to say 'no' to others. Wear the clothes you want, fill in your relationship the way you think is best, spend time on the hobbies you choose.
As a History Rebel, you live on your own terms with the following core values: more contact with nature, more outdoors, attention to stories, together with friends, tradition, creativity, fantasy and a slower life with an eye for what is really important.
Many rebels also work at Celtic WebMerchant! In our range you will find everything you need for your life path as a History Rebel.
