The absolute highlight of the year is when, after a long, cold winter, the spring sun finally breaks through and the medieval and fantasy festivals start up again. Do you also enjoy going to these types of festivals?
Medieval and fantasy festivals are becoming increasingly popular, and the number of festivals and events is growing accordingly, both in the Netherlands and in other countries. Attending a festival in your own country is, of course, always convenient. Getting there is easy, and if you want to stay for several days and the festival is still a bit farther away, arranging accommodation is quickly done.
Festivals abroad can be a bit more challenging to visit, but you can certainly combine them with a vacation in the country in question so you can make the most of your trip. Depending on the location, you could embark on a road trip, or go for a city trip if there is a major city near the festival.
