This sword is a replica of the 15th century model that was owned by the Habsburg king Albrecht 2nd of Austria. The Habsburg coat of arms is engraved in the pommel. The sword is a hand-and-a-half sword type XVIIIa and has a short fuller. It weighs approx. 1,5 kg and its length is 113 cm. It is available in a standard version or a version with an antique look.
The blade is made of carbon steel with a hardness of 50-53 HRC. The blade is sharp. The point of balance is situated 12,7 cm below the cross-guard, as a result it is possible to put a lot of force behind the blows when the sword is used as a cavalry sword. This sword is an Oakeshott type XVIIIa.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.
